Three Men To Be Ordained Priests for Diocese of Worcester

June 20, 2013, WORCESTER, MA – On
Saturday, June 29 at 10:00 am Most Rev. Robert J. McManus, STD, Bishop of Worcester, will ordain three men to the order of presbyter, or priesthood, to serve the people of the Diocese of Worcester. They are Deacon Dario Acevedo, Deacon John Hamm, and Deacon Mark Rainville. The ordinations, which will take place at Cathedral of St. Paul, Chatham and High Streets, Worcester, is open to the public and will be televised on Sunday, June 30 at 1 pm and Wednesday, July 3 at 10 am on Charter TV3.
Born in 1980 in Colombia,
Deacon Dario Acevedo completed his seminary studies at St. John Seminary, Brighton, MA. His education in Colombia included Jesus of Hope High School and Pontifical Bolivarian University. During residence at Holy Name of Jesus House of Studies, Worcester he studied at Clark University and while at St. John Seminary he also attended classes at Boston University. His summer assignments in parishes have included St. Theresa, Blackstone, St. Louis, Webster, St. Roch, Oxford, Immaculate Conception, Worcester and St. Peter, Worcester. He recently completed his Pastoral Year at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Dudley, following completion of his Theology studies. His home parish is St. Anthony of Padua in Dudley.
Deacon John Hamm was born in 1958 in New Jersey and recently completed his final year of Theology studies at Mount St. Mary Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD. After attending Lenape High School in Medford, NJ, he attended George Mason University and later Assumption College. His summer assignments included Sacred Heart, Webster, St. Brigid, Millbury, St. Vincent Hospital, St. Gabriel the Archangel, Upton, and St. Joseph, Auburn. His home parish is St. John Guardian of our Lady in Clinton.

Deacon Mark Rainville recently completed his Theology Studies at North American College in Rome. He attended Assabet Valley Regional Technical H.S., Anna Maria College and Quinsigamond Community College. He also attended St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, PA And St. John Seminary, Brighton before going to Rome to complete his seminary studies. His summer assignments have included St. Bernadette, Northboro, Good Shepherd, Linwood, and St. Brigid and Our Lady of the Assumption Parishes in Millbury. His home parish is St. Joan of Arc in Worcester..
