Fr. Michael J. Sheridan, a priest of the Diocese of Worcester, is being assigned to sacramental ministry at St. Ann Parish in Southboro while their pastor, Fr. Conrad Pecevich, is away on a medical leave of absence. Deacon Paul Reuter, who has been serving St. Ann parish since his ordination last June, will be the administrator of the parish. The assignments are being announced in the parish this weekend by Fr. James Caldarella, minister to priests, on behalf of Bishop Robert McManus, Bishop of Worcester.
Ordained in 1975 by Bishop Bernard J. Flanagan, Fr. Sheridan served in a number of parishes including St. Pius X, Leicester; St. Bernard, Worcester; Holy Family of Nazareth, Leominster; St. Luke the Evangelist, Westboro; St. Peter, Northbridge; St. Louis, Webster; and St. Mary, Uxbridge. In the mid-1990s he began serving in the Diocese of Portland, Maine. Since 2005 he has not served in active ministry, initially due to investigation of an allegation of inappropriate conduct with an adult in Maine which was found without merit, followed by a medical leave to recover from surgery.
Fr. Sheridan will reside in the parish rectory in order to serve the sacramental needs of the parish until further notice.
