June 3, 2016, WORCESTER, MA – Most Reverend Robert J. McManus, Bishop of Worcester, announced the following priests’ assignments which will take effect July 1, 2016 unless otherwise noted.
Three priests have been granted retirement status:
Rev. James F. Hoey, who is currently the pastor of Mary Queen of the Rosary Parish in Spencer has been granted retirement status.
Rev. Conrad S. Pecevich, who is pastor of St. Anne Parish, Southborough will retire due to medical reasons, effective May 31, 2016.
Rev. Edward M. Ryan, pastor of Our Lady of Providence Parish in Worcester has been granted retirement status.
Two current pastors are moving to new parishes:
Rev. Chester J. Misiewicz, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Worcester will become pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in West Brookfield for a period of six years.
Rev. Richard F. Trainor, pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Fitchburg will become pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Worcester for a period of six years.
Four priests will accept first-time pastor or administrator status.
Rev. Albert Irudayasamy, who has been assisting at St. Anne Parish in Southborough will be administrator of St. Anne Parish in Southborough.
Rev. Mark S. Rainville who has been associate pastor of St. Leo Parish in Leominster will be the administrator of St. Joseph Parish in Fitchburg.
Rev. Jonathan J. Slavinskas, currently associate pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Charlton will be the administrator of Our Lady of Providence Parish in Worcester and will also serve as Recruiter for the Diocesan Office of Vocations.
Rev. William Schipper, OSB of St. John’s Abbey and College in Collegeville, Minn. will be administrator of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish in Spencer.
Two priests have been named Pastors and one priest assigned full time at the same parish:
Rev. Richard A. Jakubauskas who has been administrator of St. Joseph Parish in North Brookfield and St. John the Baptist in East Brookfield will be pastor of St. Joseph Parish in North Brookfield and St. John the Baptist in East Brookfield.
Rev. Thomas G. Landry, current administrator of St. Peter Parish in Northbridge will be the pastor of St. Peter Parish in Northbridge for a period of six years.
Rev. Thien X. Nguyen who has been part-time administrator of St. Theresa Parish in Blackstone will be the full-time administrator of St. Theresa Parish in Blackstone.
Five Priests have received Associate Pastor assignments:
Rev. Diego Buritica to be ordained on June 4 will be associate pastor of St. Leo Parish in Leominster, effective July 15, 2016.
Rev. Donato Infante, III has completed advanced studies in Rome and will be associate pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Charlton.
Rev. Adriano Lessa who has been serving the Brazilian Community at St. Stephen’s will be associate pastor of Holy Family Parish, Worcester.
Rev. Guillermo J. Ochoa who was associate pastor of Annunciation Parish in Gardner is moving to ministry in the Diocese of Venice, FL, effective July 14, 2016.
Rev. Wilmar Ramos to be ordained on June 4 will be associate pastor of Annunciation Parish in Gardner, effective July 14, 2016.
