18 New Assignments Announced for Diocese of Worcester

Two pastors to retire and three to be ordained priests receive first parochial assignments
First lay person to be chancellor of the Diocese of Worcester

June 21, 2013, WORCESTER, MA –Most Reverend Robert J. McManus, S.T.D., Bishop of Worcester, announced the following clergy assignments.
Effective July 6, 2013.

Rev. Tomasz J. Borkowski, from Catholic chaplain at WPI, Worcester, to pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Whitinsville.

Rev. C. Michael Broderick, from pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Whitinsville, to pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Rutland.

Rev. James B. Callahan, from pastor, St. Anna Parish in Leominster to pastor of the newly configured parish of St. Francis of Assisi, South Barre.

Rev. Manuel A. Clavijo, from full-time chaplain at Anna Maria College and Hispanic Ministry at St. Peter Parish, Worcester, to pastor of St. Mary of the Hills Parish in Boylston and part-time chaplain of Anna Maria College in Paxton.

Rev. Nicholas Desimone, from associate pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Charlton, to pastor of St. Mary Parish in Uxbridge.

Rev. Frederick D. Fraini, III, from associate pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, Gardner, to pastor of St. Anna Parish in Leominster.

Rev. John Hamm, newly ordained to associate pastor St. Bernadette parish, Northborough.

Rev. Thomas H. Hultquist, from pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Barre, to Special Ministry.

Rev. Steven M. LaBaire, from pastor of St. Mary Parish, Uxbridge, to pastor of Holy Family Parish in Worcester.

Rev. Michael N. Lavallee, from pastor of St. Thomas-a-Becket Parish, South Barre, to pastor of St. Ann Parish in North Oxford.

Rev. Donald Ouellette, from associate pastor at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and St. Brigid Parish, Millbury, to Special Ministry, with residence at the Cathedral of St. Paul, Worcester.

Rev. Mark Rainville, newly ordained to associate pastor St. Joseph Parish, Charlton.

Rev. Richard F. Reidy, from pastor of St. Ann Parish, North Oxford, to Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia, with residence at Christ the King Parish in Worcester.

Rev. Richard G. Roger, from pastor Holy Family parish, Worcester, to retirement.

Rev. Paul J. Tougas, from pastor of St. Mary of the Hills Parish, Boylston, to retirement.

Effective August 1, 2013

Rev. Dario Acevedo, newly ordained to associate pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Milford.

Rev. Guillermo J. Ochoa, from associate pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Milford, to associate pastor of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish and Sacrend Heart Parish, Gardner.

As part of the official personnel notices for June 21 it was also announced that Raymond L. Delisle was moving from Vice Chancellor of Operations to Chancellor of the Diocese effective July 6.

According to the 2012 Diocesan Directory published in August, 2012, there were 131 active diocesan priests in the Diocese of Worcester and 45 retired priests.
