For the past seven years, the Diocese of Worcester has hosted a wonderful gala called “Celebrate Priesthood- Taste of the Diocese” as a benefit for Retired Priest’s Care. We cannot let a year go by without pausing to reflect on the gift of the priesthood in the lives of all Catholics.
On Thursday, October 28, 2021 we are planning an in-person Taste of the Diocese event preceded by live presentations to be streamed online for those who cannot gather with us in person.
We are excited to announce a new venue for this year! Saint Paul Diocesan Jr./Sr. High School will host our Celebration - Taste of the Diocese in the newly refurbished Gymnasium and the live Presentations will be Streamed on the internet from the Burke Auditorium. Attendees can attend both events or simply drop in at any time for the tasting in the Gymnasium.
For those who can join us that evening, we will gather for the delectable tastings from area restaurants and parishes. Tickets are available online (CLICK HERE)
Individual donations, advertising in the commemorative book and sponsorships have all been necessary elements to the success of this annual event in support of on average 50 retired priests in our diocese who have committed more than 2,000 years of service as a group to our spiritual wellbeing! For many years the cost of their care has exceeded resources by an average of $500,000. Your generous support is greatly appreciated as the proceeds help us care for our retired priests with dignity.
Everyone who participates will receive a Commemorative Book at the event or by mail for those who give $100 or more as general donations. Sponsors, donors and advertisers will also be posted on the Celebrate Priesthood webpage and social media.
