…You see, it’s much better if someone says to me trust that God will open some new doors for you rather than just trust in God. This is because I've seen doors in my life that have opened and have turned out better than expected. And I strongly suspect a lot of folks can identify with this! Just saying Trust in God seems like a cop-out statement, leading one to believe God will get them a job so they don’t have to work hard. This we know is not the truth. God gives us the skills needed in life to fulfill our duties, and in return asks us to use them. Thus I do not want to make a statement that God will get it done.
FINALLY: Encourage the unemployed to trust in God and trust in others.
Trust is the foundation of spirituality. Trust recognizes that we are all children of God. Trust means knowing that we are not alone. Trust means recognizing that we all have unique gifts and talents that stretch far beyond any resume can document. Trust means believing that our life continues to have profound meaning and purpose and that God opens new doors- so we need to be vigilant and remain receptive to them. And as history has proven, God will continue to cooperate with our hard work and effort like God has done so many countless times.
